Seems a fitting time of year for such a thread.
I am really torn between, Nightmare on elm street, Friday the 13th, Halloween and a mixture of romero's zombie movies.

Probably nightmare on elmstreet. But I like pretty much every one of those
I know it's sad, but I've never seen most iconic horror films (like any of the ones on this poll). Looks like I gotta get around to that.

Wow...you might be the first person I have ever encountered who has not seen atleast 1 of those films.
I've only seen Halloween and Saw. Wasn't terribly impressed either way. Horror isn't my thing, but I think I was turned off in the first place by the premise of all those awful sequels.

Saw has a good premise, but the first one was meh. And the twist at the end is stupid. Never could get into them after that. The first two Evil Dead movies are awesome, the third was a bit too silly. But they get my vote, with the Nightmare on Elm Street movies a close second, because back then the whole idea of the unstoppable and hopelessly insane (yet devilishly clever) dead serial killer was relatively new, and Robert Eglund was pretty entertaining as Kreuger.

I loved all the slapstick in Army of Darkness.
Shit. I just realized I want to change my vote. I vote for Tales from the Crypt.
Army of Darkness was just over the top enough to be hilarious. One liners were excellent.

Army of Darkness is one of my favorite movies of all time, so definitely Evil Dead. Most of those are pretty good though, as long as you're only talking about the first Saw (all of the sequels were pretty bad).
I didn't even see Evil Dead in the poll, shame on me.

The last 25 minutes of that movie are insanely awesome.

Romero zombie movies for me, but I have heard nothing but good things about Dead Snow. Haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

It wasn't very good at all. I have no idea why people like it so much - the novelty of Nazi zombies was overshadowed by how crappy the movie was.

It's foreign it doesn't have to be good.

I saw this really shitty nazi zombie movie. Well they were kinda like ghosts i guess, but still. They couldn't kill any of the nazis and they all died.
