Niiiice shots. What lens was that? It has absolutely gorgeous bokeh.
Also, is that a crop sensor? If so, I may just take your advice and get a used one of those off POTN or something instead of a new 50D. Would be cheaper, and a better camera. Great for action shots, too.

Thanks :D
The lens was a cheapo 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 I got two years ago. Only $200. Never really used it much because 28mm was a bit tight on the 1.6x crop bodies.

1.3x crop instead of 1.6x. I would definitely look for a used one on POTN. There are a few that are selling now. I'm lucky because the one I got was old (he got it when it came out), but it had the shutter replaced last year and only had <8k actuations on it, so it was practically new. And there are barely any marks on it too.

That lens could eat your camera. L glass ftw!
EDIT: was commenting on the 70-200, on the previous page, obviously.
BTW, I just got a 430 EX II, enjoying learning the nuances of flash photography. I need a diffuser like you have, but I am currently using a piece of white paper attached to the flash with a rubber band. =p

Hah yeah. The 70-200 is rather large. I love it though. Feels wonderful on the 1D.
Great little flash, isn't it? I've been playing around with it since I got it and I think I have the hang of it now.
Also, what camera do you have?

Still using the XT (350). Looking at a 60D now. Think I'll get that in the next month or two and hold off on any more lenses.
I was in that wreck in the fall of 09 and kinda fell off shooting for about a year due to not being able to do it, really. I'm just now getting energized to get back into it again. I'm behind, but I'll catch up.

Ah. Depending on what you shoot mostly, you should look in to picking up a 1D MkII or a 5D classic. You can find both for $1000 or less, which is about what the 60D would cost. They're a bit older, but unless you really want video or some of the newer features, I think they're better than the 60D. Though the articulating screen on the 60D is pretty interesting.

That's really the seller for me, honestly. Plus, I need a big LED for chimping. My eyes ain't what they used to be.
