8 blocks from Staples Center. All night, sirens and helicopters, as the LAPD put down a mini "victory riot." Kept waking me up, til it died out around 2am.

I simply do not understand the imbecile mind.

It's not like the Lakers have gone a long time without a championship, or something.

I don't get that whole deal (Lakers fan, here). You'd expect this to happen in New York City, but sports championships here do not lead to rioting or even small mob action. It just doesn't happen. But in some cities (Detroit, LA come immediately to mind) the retards come swarming out of their holes.

Good job guys, wrecking city/state property in a state that is already so deep in the hole that it cannot pay its bills. That will make things SO much better for you all. Sheesh.

Then I had to create a spread sheet tracking all the customer jpg ads that show at all of our stores - which ads were at which stores.

On top of that I had to fix some problems in our server caused by a software upgrade knocking some scheduled jobs out of whack and causing them not to run properly.

Then Cookie-Monster and the Noid stopped by and we rocked out to Iron Maiden's "Trooper".

It's all Bush's Grunthos' fault, apparently.

PS- that's another old Dai tactic, put in a bunch of unpopular rule changes, blame the "higher ups" for it, and leave the rest of the moderating team to deal with the fallout from angry users. It's particularly effective when a handful of those users are also hanging from his nutsack.

Thanks to them I'm now officially allergic to bee stings. Oh boy, now I get to carry about Benadryl and Epinephrine wherever I go!

I will spend tomorrow evening waiting in the office while they shut down the electrical power for 10-15 minutes to swap some fuses. Once this is done and I verify that the servers are okay, I get to go home. Later that night they'll shut down power to the building for electrical upgrades, but our server room will have power.

So I will spend the weekend periodically checking the servers via remote connection, with the understanding that if anything happens I'll hop on the next bus downtown so that I can get everything working again. Then Monday I will be in the office early to make sure that all systems are "go." And since that is the start of our summer schedule, I'll be working about 12 hours that day.

Last night Little Bug and I went outside to see if we could see any of the various fireworks going on around the city. Go figure, everything was out of sight behind either buildings or the huge fucking tree next door that eats everything around it, and I shall call Gigantor.

I then played Burnout Paradise, and tried to find all the billboards, smashes, and super jumps. After a hair-pulling few hours, I found all of the billboards and smashes, but I ended the evening still needing two super jumps. It was hella late and I was tired. There's something to do later today!

I've heard elsewhere that Mark I Nerve Agent Antidote Kits that include an atropine and pralidoxime chloride are the correct antidote, and you would also need to carry one Convulsive Antidote Nerve Agent kit which is an autoinjector full of Diazepam/Valium to counteract the convulsions associated with nerve agents.

Not sure what is true.

Grunthos
07-07-2009, 01:12 AM
I would imagine the formulary has changed sommat in 20+years. God knows much else has.

I remember atropine auto-pens, and I think pam-chloride (2-PAM?)was in use - it was a two-injector kit we all carried. Epi-pens were around for anaphylactic shock, which is a precursor symptom for some chem and bio agents.

I wonder if they still carry morphine auto-injectors - - Corpsmen still did when I was in.

I don't recall the Diazepam/Valium or CANA kits, but perhaps that's corpsman-only gear.
