This thread is about recognizing badass characters that you would never dare screw around with, assuming they were alive and retained whatever powers they had.
My first choice would be Kain, from the Legacy of Kain series.

Well, those of you who know him, know why. For those of you who don't, well....
Well, for one:

He's a ruthless bastard. And he is ruthless with a strong Shakespearean dialect that makes even old romeo and Juliet words sound badass.
Even in his younger days, he was a ruthless, well-worded Aristocratic asshole:

Kain, the knight of this tale, is by no means altruistic. He only cares about frowning and killing. He goes from Wisely arrogant, to arrogantly wise. In which case, he develops the need to not kill certain people, though this list is very, very, very small. In fact, it's just about one. And even though he cherishes his oldest son Raziel, he has no problem with tearing off Raziel's wings and throwing him into a swirling abyss of slow acidic death. And, he didn't need a woman to produce children, his seed was manly enough to grow without the egg. And the reason he hates good people, is because he believes they're just bad people who pose as good people. He loathes dishonesty.
Random fact: Kain never once tells a lie in the series. He doesn't have to hide anything. He can just kill anyone who is offended. :p
So yes, that's Kain, and he's not someone I would typically seek to cross.
