Oh, boy... (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2006908/OJ-Simpson-confessed-Nicole-Brown-murder-Oprah-TV-interview-planned.html)

Has O.J. Simpson confessed murder to Oprah? Huge TV interview planned in which convict 'will admit he killed Nicole in self-defence as she pulled a knife on him'

O.J Simpson has confessed to Oprah Winfrey that he murdered his former wife, it has been reported.

The talk show host made headlines recently saying that one of her regrets was never having got the shamed former sportsman to confess to the killing.

And it appears her wish may well have come true with reports Simpson has already told one of her producers in an interview from jail that he knifed ex-wife Nicole in self-defence - a confession he will now repeat to the talk show queen during a spectacular televised sit down interview.According to the insider, Simpson recently decided to go through with the confession after he was contacted again by one of Oprah's producers.

'He told the producer: "Tell Oprah that yes, I did it. I killed Nicole, but it was in self-defence. She pulled a knife on me and I had to defend myself",' the insider was quoted as saying.

Sadly, this will serve mostly three purposes:

1- provide fodder for comedians the world over.
2- provide media exposure and attention to a scumbag who doesn't deserve it.
3- rub additional salt into the wounds of the families and loved ones of the victims.

Honestly, if this is true and he does confess, I can't see any good coming of it. It's not as if his guilt was in doubt to anyone with an ounce of intelligence. His explanation is likely to be full of holes, and if he really intends to claim self-defense ('I took the knife away and proceeded to defend myself'), it's also incredibly pathetic.

Nor can I see any satisfaction from confronting his most ardent supporters, who will either be livid at what they will consider a betrayal, or will try to hand-wave it off with explanations that are even more bizarre than Simpson's.

Hard to explain the presence of TWO corpses dead from multiple stab wounds and throats cut from the back, as the result of self-defense from an attack by ONE person with a knife...

Or for that matter, how she happened to be laying in wait for him with a knife... outside her own home.

People who kill in self-defense also call the authorities. They don't provide alibis claiming they are somewhere else when it happened. Nor do they try to flee custody or conceal evidence.

It's likely bull... but by whom and in what regard.

...Is he planning on writing a new book or something?

I hope this story doesn't come out 'nationally,' because
1. Most knew it already.
2. As Tonus said, gives more attention to OJ and the relatives/loved ones of the victims.
3. There's nothing more that can be done. We can only hope he continues to rot in jail.

He is an innocent man, wrongfully accused!

Except for that whole inadmissible bit of screaming “I did it” to Al Cowlings in jail in 1994.

Buggiest thing of the whole business was the civil trial double jeopardy.

This is the only reason it's being done. He needs money. Which makes it all the more disgusting. There is a special place in hell...
